Practical tips

  • 1.

    Remember the area code

When dialling abbreviated 5-digit numbers from mobile phones remember to precede them with an area code of the specific Host City and a country code for Poland. The area code for Warsaw is 22, Wroclaw – 71, Poznań – 61, and Gdansk – 58. A (9-digit) mobile phone must be preceded with the country code for Poland, i.e. +48

Check or inquire about the fares

Ask the fare and agree on it before you get in a taxi. Fare per kilometre should be written on a sticker on the door of the cab. If no such information is provided on the taxi ask the driver about the fare per 1 km or negotiate a price for the planned route.
