Restored border control within the Schengen zone

Date of publication:24.04.2012

In connection with UEFA EURO 2012, in the period from 4 June to 1 July, border control will be restored within the Schengen zone (on Poland’s border with Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Lithuania).

In practice that will not result in any restrictions to travelling.  Controls will be performed on an ad-hoc basis, ensuring uninterrupted and smooth traffic. Restored border control was due to security reasons.

Travellers who use the community right of free travelling should have an ID card or passport with them. Non-EU citizens should have a passport and a visa.
